Prepping Your Car for Warmer Weather

At Keyes Honda, we feel quite lucky to be located in the Los Angeles, CA area. We’re usually spoiled with abundant sunshine and warm temperatures. Though, as we start making our way into spring and summer, the temperatures can be extremely hot and it is important that you take steps to prepare your vehicle for the warmer weather.

Spring can be a great time to perform an annual cleaning and checkup on your vehicle. One thing you want to check regularly is the air pressure and tread on your tires. While the weather here allows us to keep all-season or summer tires on our vehicles year round, it is still important to continually check the air pressure and wear on the tires. Proper tire inflation assures the best possible contact between the tires and the road. An improperly inflated tire can overheat, potentially leading to a blowout on the highway.

Inspect other areas of your vehicle such as the air conditioning system and the wiper fluid and wiper blades. The rubber on your wiper blades can dry out in the heat, so it is important to have your wiper blades in good condition. Once you turn your A/C system on, pay attention to any strange noises or odors. If you suspect something strange, bring your vehicle to your Honda service center and let the expert technicians inspect your vehicle.

The expert Honda service center at our Honda car dealership is ready to help you with all of your warmer weather vehicle needs. We will perform a full tune-up on your car and make sure it has the correct oil, the engine coolant is clear, and that all the belts and hoses are in good condition. We’ll also check to make sure all the parts of your car battery are functioning properly, as the battery tends to work even harder in the hot summer months. It is easy to schedule a service appointment online, and our technicians work extended hours to work around your busy schedule. We also have an extensive inventory of Honda parts to help fix or equip your vehicle to as new of condition as possible. We hope to see you soon!
