Honda Clarity EV and Plug-In Hybrid Make Debut

The New York Auto show is known as the place where brands unveil their latest concept cars and upcoming models. The Honda Motor Company certainly didn’t disappoint with their debut of the latest Honda cars, the Honda Clarity EV and Plug-In Hybrid models. At Keyes Honda, we know how much our Los Angeles, CA area customers love electric, hybrid, and fuel cell Honda vehicles and believe that they will be impressed with the latest additions.

The two all-new electrified Honda vehicles will join the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell, to make the Honda Clarity the first ever vehicle series offering customers an expanded array of electrified vehicle choices with fuel cell, battery electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The Honda Clarity is one of the more spacious vehicles in its class, and features a sophisticated interior with bio-fabrics and plastics extensively used throughout the cabin to promote sustainability.

The 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid is anticipated to earn an all-electric driving range rating of 42 miles, and for longer trips, the Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid can utilize its efficient 1.5L Atkinson engine to generate electricity and, under certain conditions, to act as a direct power source, resulting in an anticipated overall driving range rating in excess of 330 miles.

The 2018 Honda Electric is powered by a 161-horsepower electric motor that produces 221 lb.-ft. of torque by drawing power from a 25.5-kWh battery pack. The vehicle can be fully charged in just over three hours and is anticipated to have an EPA rule economy rating of 120/111/102 MPGe (city/highway/combined)*.

The Honda Clarity EV and Plug-In Hybrid are expected to reach dealers later this year. If you’re interested in learning more, please stop by your Van Nuys, CA Honda dealer and our expert team will walk you through the Honda Clarity lineup.
