The 2019 Honda Insight is poised to make a splash when it hits
dealerships nationwide this summer. The stylish hybrid will offer comfortable
seating for five, incredible fuel efficiency, and leading-edge technology to
deliver an outstanding driving experience. Earlier this month, a major
milestone was crossed when mass production began on the 2019 Honda Insight at
Honda Manufacturing of Indiana (HMIN).
Isao Matsuzaki, president of Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, had this to
say: "The new Honda Insight exemplifies our growing investment in the
production of electrified vehicles in America and our associates in Indiana are
proud to play a key role in this initiative.”
Altogether, the Honda brand has invested more than $61 million here in
the U.S. to support production of the 2019 Honda Insight. $29 million of this
is being invested at Honda Transmission Manufacturing of America (HTM) in Ohio
to outfit the plant for production of the Honda Insight's twin electric motor
unit. At HMIN, $31.5 million will be invested, providing for a new 19,200
square-foot building expansion to accommodate in-house subassembly of the
vehicle's front-end module, along with other facility enhancements.
These aren’t the only U.S. facilities that will play a pivotal role in
getting the 2019 Honda Insight out to dealerships and drivers. In Marysville, OH,
another Honda plant will assemble the hybrid battery pack for the 2019 Honda
Insight. This plant is also responsible for assembling the batteries that will
be installed in the 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid.
If you just can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a Honda hybrid vehicle,
head into Keyes Honda now to test drive the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid. When reviewing the 2018 Honda Accord
hybrid, U.S. News & World Report praised it for its excellent fuel economy,
saying that “Not only is [fuel economy] better than every non-hybrid rival,
it's also better than almost every hybrid competitor.”
