The 2022 Honda Civic sedan has made its debut, and car enthusiasts are already reeling over the compact sedan. What do we know so far and what are the details? Have there been drastic changes from the current 2021 model?
Engine and Performance
Base models come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine
delivering 158 hp. Buyers have the option to upgrade to a 1.5-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 180 hp output. All engine types are
mated to a variable automatic transmission.
The Cabin
The cabin interior will remain mostly the same from the 2021
model. It’ll have the same sleek design that prioritizes ergonomics,
spaciousness, and technology. From the safety front, the driver and front
passenger airbags have also been redesigned to minimize impact to the upper
portion of the body.
One notable change is the honeycomb trim that stretches along
the dash and extends from the driver door to the front passenger door. The air
vents are concealed under this honeycomb design, and you can adjust the vent
using a new joystick-like control.
Infotainment
Base models come with a seven-inch display, with the touring
trims coming with a 10.2-inch display along with a 12-speaker Bose sound
system. The infotainment supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Safety Technology
The 2022 Honda Civic comes with an improved version of the Honda Sensing suite. Adaptive
cruise control has been upgraded for improved responsiveness. Traffic Jam
Assist is also available to make rush hour on the freeways less of a pain.
