Common Honda Car Parts to Upgrade or Replace

Some car parts need to be replaced quite often, while other components may last for a vehicle’s lifetime. For your reference, here is a list of Honda parts that we replace or upgrade most often at our service center near Sherman Oaks, CA.

Air Filter

The air filter usually needs to be replaced every 40,000 miles or more if you drive on dirt-encrusted terrain. This translates to roughly once every three years.

The air filter is usually checked during a routine oil change. Some filters can also be cleaned and reused several times before being replaced.

Brake Pads

Brake pads typically need to be replaced every 60,000 miles, though this depends heavily on your driving habits. If you commute daily in an urban setting or heavy traffic, then your pads will need to be replaced more frequently since you’re engaging the breaks more often.

Your tires need to be replaced every 60,000 to 70,000 miles. To ensure maximum longevity, be sure to have your tires rotated every 5,000 to 8,000 miles. You should also have alignment and balance issues taken care of to offset tread wear.

Fuel Pump

Your fuel pump should be replaced every five to six years, or two to three times over the life of your vehicle. A faulty fuel pump will result in a lack of power, whining sounds, or trouble starting the vehicle. These symptoms, however, can also indicate a number of other issues, so a technician will need to accurately diagnose the cause.

Schedule your next maintenance appointment at Keyes Honda. Whether you drive a compact SUV like the Honda HR-V or a family minivan like the Honda Odyssey, all models are dependent on regular maintenance for optimum performance.
