Top 3 Commonly Replaced Honda Parts

There are car parts you’ll never have to replace or replace only once. There are also Honda parts that you’ll need to replace quite often, sometimes as frequently as every year. Here is a list of three automotive components that you’ll have to change out multiple times over the life of the vehicle.

1. Battery

The battery doesn’t just start the car engine. It’s also responsible for powering the lights, infotainment system, and the sensors. Aside from working every time the car is on, it’s also prone to wear from temperature fluctuations, which can alter the liquid chemical composition inside the battery cell. Expect to replace the battery every three to five years, or two to five times over the life of the car.

2. Tires

The tires are the only part that makes contact with the road. This places constant stress on the treads and also leads to sidewall damage. Expect to replace all four tires every five to six years. You can, however, prolong the tires’ life by adhering to the following:

  • Checking the tire psi once a month

  • Checking the tires for tread wear once a month

  • Rotating the tires every six months

  • Scheduling tire alignment and balance as needed

3. Door Handles and Locks

The door handles and locks are subject to repeated use. This will cause the locking mechanism and cylinders to wear over time. Eventually, you may notice the key gets stuck or won’t turn. The key fob may also not be as responsive. Depending on how often you drive, you may have to repair the locks two to three times over the car’s life.

At Keyes Honda, we perform repairs and replacement on the aforementioned parts. Whether you drive a Honda CR-V or Honda Odyssey, schedule repairs or maintenance as needed.
