Types of Repairs for Your Brakes

The brakes are such a crucial component in the driving dynamics of your vehicle. If one of your brake system's parts wear or malfunction, Honda repair will be needed.

Here is a look at some of the brake repair work that we provide.

Pad Replacement

The brake pad is located inside the caliper and acts as a clamp against the rotor to stop the wheel from moving. The pad is usually the first part of the brakes to wear and eventually require replacement. Brake pads last anywhere from 20,000 to 50,000 miles.

Brake Rotors

The rotors are the disc part of the brakes; they stop the wheel from spinning. Rotors last for around 30,000 to 70,000 miles. The disc will appear visibly rusted or scorched when wearing sets in. There may also be a squealing noise when you engage the brake pedal.

Brake Line Repair

The brake system contains a series of lines that transports the brake fluid to and from the varying brake components. A puncture in the lines can lead to a brake fluid leak and reduce the brake’s stopping ability. A technician will inspect the lines to ensure all the fittings are secure.

Master Cylinder Repair

The master cylinder transfers the hydraulic pressure from the brake pedal to the brake pads and rotors. The master cylinder usually lasts for the life of the vehicle, so repairs are not that common, or it only needs to be replaced once.

If you're experiencing brake issues, schedule a service appointment at Keyes Honda. We perform brake inspections on all Honda models, including pickup trucks like the Honda Ridgeline, maintenance, repair, and parts replacement in an efficient manner!
